Clayworks Smooth Clay Plaster is a pre-mixed, pre-coloured interior wall and ceiling plaster, ready to mix with water and apply using traditional plastering skills and tools. A 100% natural product with all ingredients compostable.*
*The majority of our finishes are coloured with natural, organic pigments. However, some colours contain chemical pigments – please contact us for further advice.
Clayworks Smooth Clay Plaster is a pre-mixed, pre-coloured interior wall and ceiling plaster, ready to be mixed with water and applied using traditional plastering skills and tools. A 100% natural product with all its ingredients compostable. Clayworks Smooth clay plaster is suitable for bathrooms, kitchens and rooms with occasional high humidity. However, it is not suitable for wet areas with direct contact with water (e.g. shower cubicles or behind sinks etc.). It is also not suitable for floors, stair treads, worktops, seating and other horizontal surfaces subject to heavy loads. It is available in all colours in the Clayworks colour chart and is usually 2 mm thick.
Preparation and Application
Clayworks Smooth Clay Plaster is applied to plasterboard, masonry, block and fibreboard that have been treated with Clayworks Premium Primer. Other substrates may require a special backing coat. For details, see our separate data sheet “Clayworks Application Details” – APPLICATION GUIDELINES. Cannot be applied directly to wood, including plywood, MDF or OSB. Suitable for interior walls and ceilings and fixed furniture. Suitable for bathrooms, but not wet rooms or shower areas. Not suitable for floors.
