Our Story
1978
Interkas is a family business founded in 1978 under the name D. KAMPARAKIS & CO. OE by Dimitris Kambarakis. In 2000 it was renamed INTERKAS – D. KAMPARAKIS Bros. OE. Since 1990 it has been active in the field of importing paints – varnishes and decorative paints from recognized French, Italian, Belgian and British production houses.
1990 - 1995
In 1990, our activities in the field of paint and varnish for wood protection began with our collaboration with the Belgian paint and varnish production company LAVENNE-MUR, which was later renamed Coprabel. Our company was the first to introduce the “impregnation varnish” technology in Greece. At the same time, foreseeing early the future development of decorative paints and special techniques, we began the exclusive collaboration with the pioneer in the field of decorative paint, the French company TOLLENS.
1996
The Italian decorative paint company, Giorgio Graesan & Friends, begins to distribute its products in Greece through our company. These are the years when the words “Wall decoration” and “Stucco” will begin to be heard more and more from the mouths of professionals in the field. Giorgio Graesan & Friends‘ products hold a leading position in 30 countries around the world and among the first positions in the selective and difficult Italian market.
1997
In early 1997, the product choices we have available in the Greek market are expanded with the presentation of the giants of the Italian paint industry MAXMEYER – Cromology Italia Spa and VIERO Coatings. In the same year, the oldest and most important French varnish and wood protection company, BLANCHON – SYNTILOR, begins its collaboration with our company. Once again, our company is the first to present in Greece the Polyurethane water-based “varnish impregnation” technology through Syntilor.
2003
In 2003, the largest British manufacturer of products and coatings for special applications, Armourcoat Sustainable Luxury Finishes, was also present in Greece through the Interkas network.
2007
In 2007 we start a new collaboration with the most important and oldest British house of “handmade” paint production, The Little Greene. At the same time, within the same year, foreseeing the continuous development of decorative paint, the products of the company VALPAINT S.p.A, begin to be distributed by our sales network. And VALPAINT S.p.A is a company that holds a leading position in the global market of decorative paint products.
2012 until Today
Since 2012, the Spanish company BEISSIER, the 2nd largest European and highly innovative company of repair materials and coatings for walls, the modern and very trendy Spanish paint company BLATEM, the dynamic and pioneer in DYI finishes and craft materials Fleur Paints, as well as the specialized company producing Clay finishes and coatings, Clayworks, are also represented by our company.
