INFORMATION

The glossy two-component paint based on epoxy resin, Ceramide 2K – MaxMeyer , is Danish for interior concrete and cement floors in garages, basements, interior terraces, etc. Certified anti-slip according to the NF EN 13036-4 standard, it is ideal for painting stairs. Its epoxy composition makes it ideal for the maintenance and renovation of porcelain surfaces, sanitary ware such as bathtubs and washbasins. It is also applied to vertical tile surfaces in bathrooms and kitchens.

Preparation

New floor: after the cement has hardened (after one month), make sure that there are no adhering substances (wax, silicone) that could prevent the paint from fully absorbing. The floor must be in good condition and free of capillary cracks and moisture. Apply 1-2% hydrochloric acid to the surface and leave until no gas bubbles form, then rinse. If necessary, use pH paper to check the acidity of the surface, then leave to dry.

Already painted floor: remove any peeling parts of the old paint, sand thoroughly to roughen the surface to facilitate absorption. Fill in any imperfections with a suitable floor filler. Rinse with water and detergent to remove dirt and oils. Rinse with water and leave to dry.

Damaged floor: if the floor shows signs of breakage or detached pieces, it is necessary to remove them and repair them. Disinfect thoroughly with detergent and water. Rinse with water and let dry. You can add ADDITIVO ANTISDRUCCIOLO, consisting of polyurethane beads, to increase the anti-slip property of the floor.

Sanitary ware, bathtubs, porcelain washbasins, wall tiles: remove the peeling or worn parts, rub thoroughly to roughen the surface to facilitate absorption. Rinse with water and detergents removing dirt and oils. Rinse with water and let dry. Clean thoroughly with Acetone to completely remove grease, soap residue, etc.

Application

  • The surface must be dry and free of dust, oil and other lubricants.
  • Room temperature: minimum +10°C / maximum +35°C. Relative humidity: less than 75%. Surface temperature: minimum +10°C / maximum +35°C.
  • Apply two coats of CERAMIDE 2K paint. For the 1st coat it is necessary to dilute with 5-10% water. For the 2nd coat it is recommended not to exceed 5% dilution. Apply the 2nd coat after 18 hours, but do not exceed 72 hours from the first.

Practical advice

Once you have mixed the product with the catalyst (A+B) wait a few minutes before applying. When finished, the mixed products should not be put back into the original container. The surface can be used after 36-48 hours at a temperature of 20°C. Complete hardening, which guarantees optimal performance and the best characteristics, is achieved in approximately 10-12 days at 20°C. Keep in mind that although in outdoor applications all epoxy paints and varnishes tend to lose their shine, their protective properties remain unchanged.
