INFORMATION

Primer AZ + CT10 is a two-component organic primer for interiors, designed to adhere to non-absorbent surfaces and substrates such as ceramics and porcelain and for stabilization or adhesion to absorbent substrates such as cement, concrete and plasterboard. It is used in the VALPAINT I-BETON PLUS system as a primer on floors and walls with surface humidity less than 3%.

Preparation

The surfaces to be applied must be free from dust, wax, grease, silicone, soap, old paint layers and anything else that may prevent adhesion.

  • a) Tiles: sand and level tiles made of ceramic, porcelain or similar materials with diamond grinding discs to roughen the existing surface glaze. Then, remove all dust completely with a suitable suction tool. Then, apply PROMOTORE DI ADESIONE ADP to the entire surface using a spray tool. Then, wipe with a cloth soaked in the same product, PROMOTORE DI ADESIONE ADP, while both the cloth and the surface are wet, for greater penetration. Wait 2 hours at 20°C before applying a coat of PRIMER AZ + CT10. Do not wait more than 4 hours at 20°C after applying PROMOTORE DI ADESIONE ADP, so as not to lose its adhesion to PRIMER AZ + CT10.
  • b) Cement and concrete slabs: when applied to cement and concrete surfaces, these must have a tensile strength > 1.5 MPa certified according to the ASTM D4541 standard and a compressive strength > 25 N/mm2 according to the EN 13892 -2 standard.
  • c) Plasterboard: when applied to plasterboard, it is important that it is of excellent quality, new or almost new.

Application

Mixing ratio: 100 g PRIMER AZ (PART A) : 54 g CT 10 (PART B)

For applications on cement and concrete slabs or plasterboards, dilute the first coat of PRIMER AZ + CT10 with:

– 270 g PROMOTORE DI ADESIONE ADP for the 0.9 kg KIT

– 800 g PROMOTORE DI ADESIONE ADP for the 2.7 kg KIT

  • a) Tiles: A single coat of undiluted PRIMER AZ should be applied at 20°C and relative humidity not exceeding 65%, using a medium-pile wool roller PV 95. While the PRIMER AZ is still wet, lay down the Fibre-Glass Mesh 74K PV 127, placing the edges close together without overlapping. With the same roller, without product, go over the mesh to firmly adhere to the surface, without using another PRIMER AZ. After 24 hours at 20°C, fill the mesh lines and any holes in the surface using the two-component STUCCO SB30, spreading it directly onto the mesh and using a spatula, where necessary, to slide it under the mesh. Leave the surface perfectly smooth and flat, without any residue, lumps or lines, to avoid the need for sanding. Wait another 24 hours at 20°C before applying METEORE 14 GROSSO or MEDIO.
  • b) Cement and concrete slabs: Apply a coat of PRIMER AZ + CT10, diluted with 30% Promotore ADP, using a medium-pile wool roller. After 24 hours at 20°C and relative humidity not exceeding 65%, apply a second coat of undiluted PRIMER AZ + CT10 with the same medium-pile wool roller. After 24 hours at 20°C, fill any holes in the surface using the two-component Stucco SB30.
  • c) Gypsum board: Apply a coat of PRIMER AZ + CT10, diluted with 30% PROMOTORE DI ADESIONE ADP, using a medium-pile wool roller. After 24 hours at 20°C and 65% relative humidity, apply a second coat of undiluted PRIMER AZ + CT10 with the same medium-pile wool roller. While the PRIMER AZ is still wet, lay down the Fibre-Glass Mesh 74K PV 127, placing the edges close together without overlapping. Take the same wool roller, without product, and pass it over the mesh to firmly adhere to the surface, without using any more PRIMER AZ.
