INFORMATION

Meteore 14 Gross is a ready-to-use, coarse-grained, structural coating in paste form, with high filling and anchoring properties, designed for application on raw cement substrates or where a first coat is required to fill the substrate. It is suitable for use with the 74 K PV 121 reinforcement mesh, to facilitate the homogeneous distribution of loads, creating crack-resistant, durable and strong surfaces.

Preparation

  • The surfaces to which Meteore 14 Grosso is applied must be free of dust, wax, grease, silicone, soap, old paint layers and anything else that may prevent adhesion. The product can only be applied to suitably solid support surfaces that have been cleaned, washed and degreased as necessary with suitable products (acidic in nature), then rinsed and dried thoroughly (for example, with an industrial heater), in order to allow the product to adhere perfectly and prevent as much as possible, the possibility of peeling as a result of humidity.
  • They must be dry and solid, without cracks and moisture. The application conditions refer to stable standard environmental conditions (Θ = 20°C and relative humidity UR = 65%). Conditions different from those indicated can even significantly modify the drying times. For more information see the relevant Technical Brochure.
  • Preparation on tiles: sand and level tiles made of ceramic, porcelain or similar materials with diamond grinding discs to roughen the existing surface glaze. Then remove all dust completely with a suitable suction tool. Apply the two-component organic primer for interiors PROMOTORE DI ADESIONE ADP to the entire surface using a spray tool. Then wipe with a cloth soaked in the same product, while both the cloth and the surface are wet, for greater penetration. Wait 2 hours at 20°C before applying a layer of the adhesion primer PRIMER AZ + CT10. Do not wait more than 4 hours at 20°C after applying PROMOTORE DI ADESIONE ADP, so that the primer PRIMER AZ + CT10 does not lose its adhesion. After 6 – 8 hours at 20°C, continue with the application of Meteore 14 Grosso.
  • Preparation on cement (new or in good condition): Apply a layer of Top Coat AR60 Lucido resin with a brush or roller (Microfiber). Top Coat AR60 Lucido resin must be catalyzed with the CT80 catalyst and in this case diluted 1:2 to 1:3 with water, always stirring very well. After 6 – 8 hours at 20°C, continue with the application of Meteore 14 Grosso.
  • Preparation on plasterboard: The plasterboard surfaces must be completely troweled and primed with a suitable plasterboard primer. Then apply a layer of Top Coat AR60 Lucido resin with a brush or roller (Microfiber). Top Coat AR60 Lucido resin must be catalyzed with the CT80 catalyst and in this case diluted 1:2 to 1:3 with water, always stirring very well. After 6 – 8 hours at 20°C, continue with the application of Meteore 14 Grosso.

Application

  • After 6-8 hours at 20°C of applying the resin as a primer Top Coat Ar 60 + CT80 diluted 2:1 to 1:3 with water, proceed with the application of Meteore 14 Grosso using the PV43 or PV44 Stainless Steel Trowel, inserting the 74 K PV 121 reinforcement mesh and creating a layer that is sufficient to cover it and to obtain uniformity of the surface. After 12 hours at 20°C you can proceed with the remaining layers of the VALPAINT i-Beton resin cement mortar system.
