INFORMATION

Primer 400 is a water-based primer endowed with special characteristics that make it similar to a solvent-based product, such as its penetration into the surface to which it is applied. It is easy to apply, washable and stays strong and has excellent coverage. It can be applied to many different surfaces, such as cement, plaster, gypsum, drywall, wood, iron, PVC and even to surfaces that have already been painted (provided that the existing layer is not peeling). Primer 400 is also excellent as a finishing paint for both interiors and exteriors and does not require the application of primers.

Preparation and Application

For VALRENNA 2: on old surfaces

  • Remove old paint that has peeled or detached and then wash with water and suitable soap products. Then use a filler product (suitable putty) to repair the surface. When dry, sand the surface. Then apply Primer 400 only to the repaired areas. After approximately 4 hours at 20°C, apply a coat of Primer 400 tinted and diluted 10 – 30% with water. If, however, the surfaces are clean and not peeling, apply a single coat of Primer 400 tinted and diluted 10 – 30% with water. After 4 hours at 20°C, proceed with the application of Valsetin 2 or Valrenna 2.
  • New surfaces: Use a filler product (suitable putty) to repair the surface. When dry, sand and apply Primer 400 only to the repaired areas. After approximately 4 hours at 20°C, apply a coat of Primer 400 tinted and diluted 10 – 30% with water. After another 4 hours at 20°C, proceed with the application of VALRENNA 2.

For VALSETIN 2: on old and new surfaces

  • Remove old paint that has peeled or peeled off and then wash with water and suitable soap products. When the surface is dry, fill any cracks. Once the appropriate filler has dried, sand the surface to ensure it is smooth. Then, apply a coat of Primer 400 diluted 50% with water to act as a stabilizing primer. Then, apply a coat of undiluted Primer 400 to the entire surface using a short-pile roller (Microfiber) with as many cross-over movements as possible to achieve optimal surface coverage. After 4 hours at 20°C, proceed with the application of Valsetin 2 or Valrenna 2.

Note: Primer 400 must be tinted before application, according to the selected Valsetin 2 or Valrenna 2 color.

For POLISTOF: on old surfaces.

  • Remove old paint that has peeled or peeled off and then wash with water and suitable soap products. Then use a filler product (suitable putty) to repair the surface. Once dry, sand. Then apply Primer 400 only to the repaired areas. After approximately 4 hours at 20°C, apply a coat of colored Primer 400 diluted 10 – 20% with water. However, if the surfaces are sound and do not crumble, apply a coat of colored Primer 400 diluted 10 – 20% with water and proceed with the application of Polistof.
  • New surfaces: Use a filler product (suitable putty) to repair the surface. Once dry, sand and apply Primer 400 only to the repaired areas. After approximately 4 hours at 20°C, apply a coat of Primer 400 tinted and diluted 10 – 20% with water. After another 4 hours at 20°C, proceed with the application of Polistof.
