Vierosil 3D Mat is a breathable acrylic-siloxane paint for exterior surfaces, with high filling power, containing glass microspheres and components that prevent the formation of moss and mold. The paint contains quartz powder with a particle size of 0.3 mm and is enriched with glass microspheres with a three-dimensional molecular structure. It has been designed primarily for the restoration and maintenance of facades and from the first coat, thanks to its filling properties, makes rough surfaces homogeneous. A second coat improves the water repellency, mechanical resistance and aesthetic characteristics of the coating.

INFORMATION

Vierosil 3D Mat is a siloxane paint for exterior surfaces with anti-moss and mold properties. A one-component, naturally drying, breathable product with high filling capacity and water-repellent properties suitable for application in two coats on uneven or rough surfaces of lime mortar, cement mortar and cement pre-treated with PRYMER ACQ or with PRYMER ACQ 100 in case of chalking or adhesive and cohesive substrates previously treated with organic and mineral paints.

Preparation
  • External masonry that has never been painted:
    • Ensure that the surface has dried for at least 28 days and clean it thoroughly, carefully removing any traces of dirt and dust as well as loose parts. Repair imperfections (holes, cracks or fissures) with compatible materials.
    • Ensure that the wall is thoroughly dry, apply a coat of PRYMER ACQ primer diluted with water (1:5 by volume).
  • External masonry suffering from chalking:
    • Brush or rub the surface vigorously.
    • Strengthen the surface by applying a water-based strengthening primer – PRYMER ACQ 100 – or a solvent-based primer PRYMER SE
  • Painted exterior surfaces:
    • Remove all traces of dirt, loose parts and any loose areas. If there are traces of mold or moss, first apply a mold and moss cleaning solution.
    • Fill and smooth with compatible products and let dry. Make sure the wall is completely dry and apply a primer of acrylic composition PRYMER ACQ diluted with water (by volume from 1:3 – 1: 5). If the substrate is particularly loose, apply a coat of PRYMER SE primer based on resins with organic solvents by brush.
  • Old coatings:
    • Use a paint stripper and wash the surface with high pressure water.
    • If the substrate is cohesive and adheres to the base, it is possible to apply Vierosil 3D Mat directly, making the system waterproof while improving its aesthetic characteristics.

Application

  • 12-24 hours later, make sure that the wall is completely dry and apply the first layer of Vierosil 3D Mat using a roller or brush. Dilute the product with 20% water.
  • After at least 8 hours, apply the second layer of Vierosil 3D Mat.
  • The product completes the drying and polymerization processes within 8 – 10 days in good environmental conditions (+5°C / +35°C, Humidity max. 85%). If the product, during this period, is washed away by rainwater, unsightly marks and runs with a translucent and sticky appearance may appear. This phenomenon, of a temporary nature, does not affect the quality characteristics of the product and can be easily eliminated by washing with water or by waiting for the next rain.
