It is classified as V1, indicating a high level of breathability. It dries to a water-vapor permeable film with excellent adhesion to prepared surfaces. Preparation

  • General: Remove any surface imperfections and repair any defects to ensure a top-notch finish.
  • New render, brick or cement surfaces: Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease. Abrade surfaces to remove loose material. Apply a coat of Wall Primer Sealer diluted 5 to 25% (by volume) with water, depending on the porosity of the substrate.
    • Chalking must be completely removed before painting. This product is not suitable for non-porous stone or brickwork such as granite, slate, Fletton common bricks & technical bricks.
  • Existing paint finish: Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease. Remove all loose and flaking paint. Loose plasters or other mortars should be repaired or replaced. Cracks should be widened and filled with a suitable repair putty. Chalked surfaces should be sanded and stabilized with a coat of Wall Primer Sealer before applying paint.
  • Areas contaminated with mold or moss growth should be treated with a special fungicide solution or a 25% solution of household bleach in water, followed by thorough cleaning to remove residue.
  • Cement or lime-based paints should be completely removed before using Intelligent Masonry Paint.
  • This product is not recommended for painting surfaces with existing lime-based paint or other natural coatings.

Application

  • Stir well before use.
  • Do not apply to surfaces when the ambient temperature is below 10°C or if there is a risk of rain during application or drying.
  • Avoid application in the sun or on hot surfaces.
  • For best results, always try to calculate the required application time of the paint in relation to the dimensions of the building surfaces to be painted, before exposing them to direct sunlight.
  • Brush Painting: Always use high-quality synthetic bristle brushes that are the appropriate size for the specific project.
  • Apply the acrylic Intelligent Masonry Paint in even strokes and only extend the painted area so that a wet edge is easily maintained. For a higher quality final finish, apply the final strokes in the same direction and do not re-pass through areas where the paint has already begun to dry.
  • Roller Painting: Use a medium-pile fur paint roller for best results on smooth surfaces. Increase the length of the pile for rougher surfaces, as appropriate, to ensure even and complete coverage. Keep all final strokes of the roller in the same direction, maintaining a wet edge throughout, and avoid re-rolling over areas where the paint has already started to dry, as there is a serious risk of streaking.
