INFORMATION

The waterproof cementitious repair putty Aguaplast Beton Repair repairs and renovates reinforced concrete elements, waterproofs walls and partitions, including marine or extremely humid environments, stabilizes posts, drains, railings, swimming pool walls and is generally applied to repairs and renovations of outdoor spaces.

Preparation

  • The substrate must be cohesive, stable and free from dust, grease, wax or any other substance that prevents the proper adhesion of the Aguaplast Beton Repair repair putty.
  • Remove loose or poorly adhered parts of plaster, mortar, old paint layers, etc. Apply DELTAFIX or another stabilizing primer to stabilize weak and chalky substrates. If necessary, treat absorbent substrates with FIXACRYL or another stabilizing primer to reduce surface absorption. Soak or dampen the substrate before application to reduce absorption.
  • All areas contaminated with mold and/or moss must be thoroughly cleaned and then treated with FUNGISTOP or another antifungal agent.
  • Repair and seal dynamic cracks with AGUAPLAST FIBRA or FLEX FILL.
  • In general, substrates must be treated and prepared in accordance with local standards. If in doubt, it is highly recommended to carry out a test application on a small area to determine suitability, compatibility and application conditions.
  • The use of alkali-resistant mesh is recommended for reinforcing specific points such as structural joints, joints between materials of different nature, window frames, lintels, etc.
  • Use mesh when the required filling is greater than 15 mm.
  • Reinforcement and repair of concrete: Apply a thin layer of Aguaplast Beton Repair to the steel with a brush as an alkaline anti-corrosion protection. Then fill the area (at least 3 mm layer) with Beton Repair.
  • Do not apply to painted walls.
  • Do not apply to polished surfaces (tiles, mosaic, etc.).
  • Do not apply to gypsum-based substrates (plaster, drywall, etc.).

 

Application

  • Use clean water, container and tools to mix the product. Mix at a ratio of 0.25 L water / 1 kg powder. Gradually pour the powder into water, stirring until a homogeneous paste without lumps is obtained. The product can be used immediately. The paste remains workable for approximately 30 minutes at 20ºC. High temperatures will reduce and low temperatures may extend the working time. Do not re-mix the mixture. Do not add water or powder once the product has started to set. Do not add excessive water to avoid shrinkage.
  • Apply using a trowel, stainless steel spatula or blade. Clean tools with water immediately after use.
  • When working indoors, allow for ventilation to ensure proper drying.
  • Can be overcoated with any type of paint, finish coat, wallpaper, etc.
  • Decorative finishes can be applied once the surface is dry.
