INFORMATION

Lime Paint – Fleur Limewash is a mineral, lime-based paint for interior and exterior walls with natural binders and additives, with a low VOC content (maximum value 10 g / l). It gives the surface a matte and sparkling appearance. Fleur Lime Paint is a water-based paint, composed of traditional organic material and improved through modern technologies to achieve an excellent color in terms of performance and application. Thanks to its mineral composition, it is particularly breathable and can significantly reduce the humidity of the substrate, thus avoiding peeling and detachments usually caused by humidity on the underlying surface. Its mineral composition prevents the proliferation of mold and microorganisms, naturally, without the use of harmful chemical additives. Its action is effective as long as external factors do not modify its pH.

Preparation

  • Make sure that the surface is completely dry, completely solid to the substrate, free from stains, grease, mold, fungus, chalking or anything that could compromise adhesion or the success of the work.
  • In the case of loose and unstable surfaces, remove the unstable parts and prime with FLEUR LIME PAINT FONDO primer.
  • Apply directly to surfaces previously treated with lime or mineral paints. In the case of chipped or chalked surfaces, first apply a coat of Lime Paint Consolidator and let dry for 2-4 hours.
  • Lime Paint can also be applied to surfaces that are not completely dry (“fresh” plaster). Sand the surface to be painted to restore any parts of the plaster that are not well adhered. In case of dusty plasters or high temperatures, it is recommended to wet the surface abundantly with water.

Application

  • Apply with the specific Fleur brush or roller at a temperature between +10°C and +35°C.
  • To implement the Fleur Limewash technique, dilute the first coat with 40% water and after at least 2 hours apply the second coat diluted with 20% water.
  • For a full color technique, apply 2 coats of undiluted paint, let it dry at least 2 hours between the two coats.
  • Thin the two coats with 20% water for a slightly patinated effect.
  • For deep consolidation, apply 2 coats of Lime Paint Consolidator after Lime Paint with a roller or brush. It is ready to use for light shades. For dark shades, dilute with 10% water. Let it dry for at least 2 hours.
  • To make the surface sufficiently resistant to washing, apply a coat of water-based Fleur – Aqua Wax after the Consolidator, let it dry and remove the excess with a cotton cloth. For long-term protection on surfaces subject to wear, apply two coats of wax.
