They do not peel and are easy to maintain. Saturateur-Blanchon and Saturateur Ultra Protect highlight, through their matte and warm appearance, the natural elegance of the wood.

How can I protect my terrace with decking impregnations?

To ensure optimal impregnation of the wood by Saturateur-Decking Oil, make sure that the wood is dry (at least 3 days of good warm weather before application) and that there is no risk of rain in the first 24 hours after the 2nd coat.

Substrate preparation

New exotic woods should be degreased with acetone.

The wood must be sound, clean and dry, free from traces of resin, greasy stains or old preservatives (except Syntilor/Blanchon Saturators) or old varnishes, paints, impregnation varnishes or oils. Sand or remove if necessary with Syntilor abrasive.

Wood affected by fungi or used in environments that favour their growth must first be treated with a suitable wood treatment product.

At the end of the preparation, a light sanding (80 grit sandpaper) on all surfaces will open the pores and facilitate penetration.

Carefully dust the wood before application.

Applying the floor impregnation – Saturateur

Mix well before use, do not dilute the Saturateur.

Apply a first coat of Saturateur/Decking oil in the direction of the wood fibers (well saturate the grooves, joints and edges).

Depending on the choice of Syntilor/Blanchon Saturateur (drying time between 2 coats), apply a second coat.

Apply the excess product with a brush to avoid running marks or highlights.

Depending on the Saturateur/Decking oil used, refer to the drying time indicated on the packaging before putting your terrace back into use.

How can I maintain my terrace?

The appearance of impregnated wood naturally changes under the influence of bad weather and ultraviolet radiation. Once the color of the wood has naturally lightened, apply a new layer of Saturateur impregnator to restore the original appearance of the wood.

In case of delayed maintenance, decolorize with wood lightener – Degriseur Bois by Syntilor – before applying Saturateur impregnator even if it is opaque.

Tips and Tricks

Do not apply Saturateur/Decking Oil on top of any other type of impregnation or exterior wood protection product.

Do not allow streaks, runs or excessive thickness to remain, which will indicate film formation on the surface. If necessary, remove them quickly by lightly rubbing.

Saturateur/Decking Oil wood impregnations can also be applied to exterior floors, grills, pool decks, fences, gates, etc.
