Apply a coat of solvent-based paint and then the floor primer. The primer is always applied after the paint, not before. Do not sand with a machine or by hand between the paint and primer application.
We do not recommend using floor varnish on this parquet, because the multiple layers of oil have soaked the wood fibers and the varnish will most likely peel off relatively quickly. It is better to use a corresponding oil product.
Outdoor wooden terraces cannot be maintained with floor varnish, because the product does not withstand outdoor conditions. To maintain and protect your terrace, we recommend that you choose an outdoor oil, e.g. Syntilor – SATURATEUR ULTRA PROTECT Decking Oil Νερού. It protects, deeply nourishes and beautifies terraces, decks and the pool area, giving them a beautiful natural matte appearance.
All Syntilor floor varnishes are applied to exotic woods. Depending on the type of wood, you should degrease well (with acetone) and then sand with sandpaper (grit 100-120) before applying the floor varnish. On exotic woods such as IROKO, it is recommended to apply a Floor Primer Syntilor – Sous-Couche Parquet or Prim’Sealer – Blanchon, before the floor varnish. Then sand with sandpaper (grit 100-120) and then apply the floor varnish. In very hard woods, such as Teak and Bakirai, it is recommended to protect them with oil or wax for exotic woods and not with varnish.
It is very important to prepare properly. Initially, special cleaners and wax removers are used. Then it is rubbed with sandpaper (grit 120) removing the wax residues. When is cleaned well you can move on to the application of the floor varnish.

Sanding (grit 120-150) between coats ensures better adhesion between them and at the same time the final finish is rendered smoother and more beautiful. It is a necessary process between coats. When the repainting time exceeds the recommended hours (usually 6-12 hours), it should be done with coarser sandpaper (grit 100 instead of 120-150).
On soft and absorbent wood species, a second coat of primer will help the floor varnish absorb evenly.
