INFORMATION

Velafix is a product for lime-based systems suitable for use as:

  • Primer for surfaces that show a strong chalking effect.
  • Binder for thinning and reinforcing filler for the aging technique with VIXALIT.
  • Primer and stabilizer for completing lime-based paint systems.

Preparation and Application

  • Mineral surfaces must be clean, well-seasoned, homogeneous, without chalking and free from dirt, grease and traces of old paints and coatings. If necessary, restore the surface with lime or cement-based products.
  • As a primer, for chalking: apply one coat of undiluted Velafix with a brush or roller.
  • As a binder for thinning and reinforcing VIXALIT in the aging technique: dilute 1 – 2 parts VIXALIT paint with 10 parts VELAFIX, mix well and apply with irregular movements, with a sponge or brush.
  • As a stabilizer for complete lime-based paint cycles: apply one coat of undiluted Velafix by brush or roller to lime-based paint or coating.

Note: The application of Velafix does not modify the breathability and aesthetic appearance typical of lime-based paints or coatings and does not allow the surface to exhibit the chalking effect, which can occur until the carbonization process is complete.
