INFORMATION

Timpest Aqua Antitarlo is a new range of water-based products against wood-boring insects and wood fungi that maintains its effectiveness and is also very safe for the user during application. An innovative product that stems from our effort to respond to the evolution of consumer trends. It is important to use the product as a preventive measure but also as a suppressant when required.

Timpest Aqua Antitarlo is easy to apply by both professional operators and DIY users. It is a water-based microemulsion product. Ideal for treating both interior and exterior wood. It penetrates deep into the wood fibers protecting them from the effects of wood-boring insects.

It is ideal for furniture, wooden beams, floors, lighting, for any wooden object and raw wood for productive purposes. The water base guarantees effectiveness, favoring easy use in special conditions such as environments that must be used immediately after application. The water base does not produce any form of evaporation as occurs with the solvent base and has been created especially for difficult applications.

TIMPEST HAS THE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE TO COMBAT WOOD-EATING INSECTS

  • They belong to the beetle family.
  • They are much more aggressive and harmful than other insects that threaten wood.
  • Wood has everything that wood-eating insects need to survive and reproduce: vitamins, proteins and water.
  • Favorable conditions are: abandonment, neglect, humidity, darkness and heat from heating systems that eliminate the dormant period.
  • Their development is rapid: the female lays eggs, which, once hatched, become larvae. The larvae immediately begin to feed by digging tunnels.
  • Near the surface, they undergo another metamorphosis, and after breaking the wood, they fly away and finally die.
  • When they feed they are caterpillars and when they develop into adults they have a rigid body that protects their wings.
  • It is the adult insect that bores into the wood. Each hole shows a wood-eating insect that has emerged from the wood
  • When wood-eating insects corrode the wood they are silent
  • Some wood-eating insects are more dangerous than others because of their size: the holes on the surface can exceed 1 cm in diameter.
  • Some are particularly damaging because their life cycle can last more than 10 years. On the surface furniture and beams may appear solid and healthy, but below the surface they are completely corroded.
  • The clicking sound heard by wood-eating insects is produced by the insects hitting their rigid bodies in the tunnels: it is their mating call.

Preparation

  • Timpest Aqua Antitarlo can be applied by brush, dipping, spraying. It is applied in one or two layers on clean and dry wood on interior or exterior surfaces.
  • The more product the wood absorbs, the greater the effect against wood boring.
  • For painted or ripolined wood, where absorption is weaker, it is recommended to remove the surface layer before application using the corrosive Décapant Gel Multi-Supports in order to restore the wood surface.
  • Application on bare, clean, dry and dust-free wood, without traces of old finishes: Sand with sandpaper No. 120. If necessary, degrease soft woods with acetone.
  • The product must not be diluted.
  • 1000 ml of product for 5-6 square meters of surface to be treated. The amount of product to be used varies depending on the type of wood or the previous treatments it has received in the past.
  • For further treatments after applying Timpest Aqua Antitarlo, it is recommended to continue using water-based products.
  • Timpest Aqua Antitarlo in gas-free spray is ideal for injection into hard-to-reach places such as cracks or holes.
