Decking Oil – Saturateur Blanchon is recommended for all types of wood, including pre-impregnated wood: exotic woods, European hardwoods or softwoods, resinous woods. Highly penetrating, non-filming, non-flaking and easy to maintain. Offers the possibility of local renovation. Anti-UV and water-repellent, it provides effective protection against bad weather conditions. Its oiled finish with a beautiful warm shade highlights the natural and raw beauty of the wood.

Preparation

New Exotic Wood: Degrease* with a cloth soaked in acetone.
Old untreated wood, stained or greyed: clean using Syntilor’s greyed wood cleaner Dégriseur Nettoyant.
Old finishes (old paints, varnishes, etc.): sand with sandpaper No. 40, 60 and then 100 or remove old substrates with Syntilor’s abrasive Décapant Gel Multi-Supports.
If necessary, apply a coat of a suitable wood treatment product against wood-eating insects.

NB:*For new exotic wood, it is recommended that it be exposed to the sun and the weather for approximately 6 months to open the pores and allow it to be deeply impregnated with Decking Oil – Saturateur Blanchon. The same applies to pre-impregnated wood.

PROFESSIONAL TIP : A light sanding (80-100 grit sandpaper) before application to all surfaces will open the pores and facilitate penetration.

Application

Mix well before and during use, do not dilute.
Apply the product in 2 rich and successive coats using the “wet on wet” technique until the wood “denies”, that is, until the saturated wood cannot absorb any more product, always in the direction of the wood fibers (well soak the grooves, joints and edges).
Let it penetrate for 5-10 minutes and then clean the excess material with a clean cotton cloth.
If necessary, and in cases of weathered wood, apply a new coat of product to give a uniform appearance.
Let the saturated wood stabilize for about 3 days before use.
Clean the application tools immediately after use with White Spirit.
Collect the cloths used for wiping immediately after use and do not leave them in the sun (risk of self-ignition of oil-soaked fabrics). The cloths can also be stored in water.

Maintenance

As soon as the wood surface begins to naturally lighten due to weathering and UV radiation, apply Decking Oil – Saturateur Blanchon directly to the lightened areas.
In case of delayed maintenance, first clean with Syntilor Dégriseur Nettoyant for greyed wood
